Breast Milk & Formula
Using Breast Milk with the Portable Bottle Warmer
Great news - You can heat breast milk in the bottle warmer. We recommend setting it to 37°C, our lowest heating option. The slow heat technology preserves the nutrients in the milk and prevents any hotspots. Make sure the breast milk is thawed before heating.
Using Formula with the Portable Bottle Warmer
Warm the water first using the portable bottle warmer. Once it reaches the desired temperature, add your formula.
Note: Do not add the formula before heating the water, as it will stick to the heating plate and prevent the bottle from warming correctly
How Long Will My Bottle Take to Heat?
How Long Will My Bottle Take to Heat?
Your bottle will typically take about 5-10 minutes to heat.
The exact time may vary depending on the initial temperature of the liquid and the selected temperature setting.
Portable Bottle Warmer Instructions
- Pour water or milk into your baby bottle.
- Screw the warmer onto the bottle: Keep the bottle upright while attaching the warmer, with the Lil Moo warmer upside down on top of the baby bottle.
- Invert the bottle: Once the warmer is securely attached, turn the baby bottle upside down so the Lil Moo warmer is upright beneath the bottle.
- Select the desired temperature: Press the button to choose between 37°C, 40°C, or 45°C.
- Wait for the beep: The temperature will gradually rise and display on the warmer. It will beep once the set temperature is reached.
- Test the liquid: Before feeding your baby, test the liquid against your skin to ensure it is at a safe temperature
Reassemble
After wiping down your Lil Moo place the lid back on firmly (there is a trick for this) so that they stay secure on the bottle warmer:
1. Put on the dust cover normally
2. Press in with the centre of the thumb to create a vacuum
3. Slightly lift the edge of the dust cover so that air escapes and a vacuum is formed
How To Clean
Cleaning on the go
To clean your portable bottle warmer while out and about, follow these simple steps:
- Wipe down. Use a soft, damp cloth or wipe to wipe the exterior of the warmer. Avoid getting any water into the heating unit.
- Remove any spills: If there are any spills or stains on the warmer, gently wipe them away with a cloth dampened with warm, soapy water.
- Dry thoroughly: After cleaning, ensure the warmer is completely dry before storing or using it again.
- Clean the heating plate: Clean the heating plate with a soft, damp clot or wipe. Be sure it is completely dry before use.
- Regular maintenance: Perform regular cleaning to keep your portable bottle warmer in good condition and ensure its longevity.
Sterilising
- Unplug and cool down: Before cleaning, ensure the warmer is unplugged from charger and has cooled down completely to avoid any accidents.
- Prepare a sterilizing solution: You can use a commercial sterilizing solution or prepare a mixture of water and sterilizing tablets or use boiling water.
- Disassemble: Remove lid and rubber seal.
- Soak: Place the sterilising solution or boiling water on the heating plate but do not submerge the unit. Soak rubber seal separately.
- Soak for recommended time: Follow the manufacturer's instructions if using solution or soak with boiling water for at least 5 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly: Tip water/ solution out and wipe down to ensure all liquid is removed.
- Air dry: Allow all the parts to air dry completely before reassembling or using the portable bottle warmer again.
- Perform regular sterilization: It's essential to sterilize your portable bottle warmer regularly, especially if it comes into contact with milk or formula, to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria.
Important Before Use
Important: Before use, ensure placement of the sealing ring is correctly installed, refer to instruction manual for full details.
Make sure your wall adapter has a voltage of 5V-2A or 5V-3A and charge it to 100% before use.
If heating formula, it’s essential to:
- Heat the water only first.
- Add formula after the water is heated.
Why this matters:
Heating formula mixed with water causes residue to stick to the heating plate, which interferes with the unit’s ability to heat effectively and can damage the plate over time.
